Saturday 25^th October, 2014……Rome…..Nice day, 20 degrees….Michael had to go and get me more medication so another low key day today……however went out for a short walk in the morning and again in the afternoon and found a nice restaurant to eat at in the evening…….I am not allowed some foods and no wine or coffee but the restaurant cooked me a nice meal and Michael’s looked delicious as he had the seafood platter!  M & F

Sunday 26^th October, 2014…..Rome…..Nice day again, 20 degrees…..decided I just had to venture out today and so we took the ‘hop on hop off’ bus circuit twice to see some of the sites of Rome…… luckily we have done all the sites of Rome before as we would have been very disappointed and I am still very disappointed as we had hopes of revisiting many of the places we enjoyed in Rome last time…..tonight we have another restaurant we want to visit and tomorrow we fly to Dubai so another day of travelling….we have discovered that we are very close to the main railway station, Termini, and in fact we didn’t need to take the metro the one stop we took to get here on our arrival in Rome so tomorrow we will walk to Termini (and I hope the last time I carry that back pack!!!) and then take the fast train to the airport……also today we have learned that we have to pay the bed tax here in Rome…..it was 2 Euros per person per night but they have just increased it to 4 Euros per person per night…even reception at the hotel is gasping at the increase!!!!  As of today Michael has taken over 9,000 photos and I think the camera is also saying enough!!!!!…….M & F

A small pic of the front of Vittorio Emanuele Monument...so hard from the bus to get a good pic but this has always been one of my favourite spots as I remember when I first came to Rome in 1978, and it was so hot I got into the fountain at the base of the monument!!!! You would probably get arrested for doing that now!!!!
