2014……..Dubai….Hot, hot, hot….we’ve had 40 degrees again but the show must go
on…..we have been out seeing the sights of Dubai…..the architecture of the
buildings here is really quite amazing……one really has to congratulate them on
the variety of architecture……and so we have been to the aquarium designed on
the theme of the lost city of Atlantis and what a fish tank that is…..the lost
chambers area was particularly interesting…..Michael said I was like a kid in a
lolly shop but I couldn’t get over the variety and size of the fish and so well
displayed……we rode on the Palm Jumeriah Monorail which gave one a great view of
the area being elevated…we went to the Dubai Mall, supposed to be the biggest
in the world but malls are malls…...we went up the Burj Khalifa, supposed to be
the tallest building in the world…..we went to Burj Al Arab, Dubai’s landmark
hotel built in 1955 and recently restored…..the Dubai Museum which was
interesting and I will go back there when we come back to Dubai in October when
it’s not so hot!! We took a boat across
the creek to the Gold Markets and Spice markets……oh boy, you could empty your
credit card in the gold market……and tonight we go on a Dhow Cruise for a buffet
dinner…..the metro has been good to get around on here as lots of traffic
congestion with so much construction going on (tram tracks being installed) …..tomorrow
morning we leave Dubai and fly to Nice in France……M & F

ReplyDeleteWow it must so good to have the sand out of your clothes. Love the Aquarium. Still to visit Dubai. I am sure you are drinking lots of water. I guess you will be relieved to have not more sore bums or backs from Safariing
